Pups4Patriots 5K
For many brave members of the armed forces, coming home is only the beginning of another daunting battle. The invisible wounds of war, including Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury, can cause debilitating symptoms in veterans, leading to depression, social isolation and, far too often, suicide.
To help, American Humane created the Pups4Patriots™ program, which finds dogs in need of forever homes and trains them as lifesaving, free service animals for veterans in need.

American Humane’s national Pups4Patriots™ 5K is a virtual weekend-long event, raising funds to train lifesaving service dogs for veterans coping with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Participants can show their solidarity with America’s veterans by walking, jogging or even running at their leisure over the Fourth of July weekend, and help raise funds to support all of our life-saving and impactful programs, including our Pups4Patriots program that provides trained service dogs, free of cost, to veterans struggling with the invisible wounds of war.
The goal is to raise enough funds through this national 5K to fully fund at least one veteran/service dog team, which costs on average $30,000. Any amount helps them get closer to achieving this goal and saving lives on both ends of the leash!
Join us at Heirloom Athletics to support this great cause! This event is free to members and $20 drop-in fee for non-members (the fee will go directly to American Humane).
